What are you preparing for?

So here we go...

Obviously, we prepare for the WHAT IF or WTSHTF.  Massive economic failure, civil unrest, and countless other scenarios too numerous to mention here.  But regionally, we should all be aware or the real dangers that can and have popped up at any time.  The Ice storm of 98 that hit Quebec, Ontario and New England and the Saguenay floods are good examples of natural disasters that required evacuation or good prepping to get through without extreme hardship.

I would like for us to all think carefully about what scenarios we could reasonably expect to face in the near future.  With that in mind, we can then begin to properly prepare for them.  If you expect massive flooding, then bug out kits would be your main goal.  Extended power failures would lead us to stock up on alternate heating and lighting supplies.  Economic collapse would lend to stockpiling food, seeds and just about anything else.

So please, take some time to research natural disasters in your area, asses the risks and possibilities.  Then sit down and make a list of everything you could need to handle them.  Make a plan to build up your reserves and start getting prepared.  I would love to hear what you are preparing for...so leave a comment and let’s get prepared.
